We are proud to announce the launch of a next-generation engine for the K9 self-propelled howitzer—an exciting advancement that strengthens global defense solutions!
In just three years, STX Engine developed a 1000-horsepower engine that not only equals the performance of its predecessor from MTU solutions but also delivers 5% better fuel efficiency and a lighter design!
This was made possible through a government-backed R&D initiative, collaborating with esteemed institutions such as the Korea Automotive Technology Institute and Hanyang University, resulting in the successful localization of over 500 critical components.
In the words of STX Engine CEO, Lee Sang-soo: “By completing the localization of the K9 howitzer engine and establishing a robust production system, we are poised to expand our export markets, unlocking significant economic potential for the future.”
